Don’t have the time or the budget for a meal in a restaurant? You can still eat well by grabbing delicious sandwiches at L’Angolo der Panino. A simple meal does not mean giving up quality or taste. L’Angolo der Panino makes fantastic panini (sandwiches) near the Colosseum and the Roman Forum. They use only high quality ingredients. Everything is made fresh daily. This is the place to stop for a quick, inexpensive bite to eat. Another bonus is that the shop is open all day long, even when most restaurants are closed for siesta. There are a handful of tables inside as well as a few outside. Or grab a couple panini for a picnic later in the day or before jumping on the train to your next destination.
The specialty at L’Angolo der Panino is the porchetta – a savory, moist boneless pork roast. The shop receives its porchetta directly from Ariccia, a city outside of Rome known worldwide for its pork delicacy. Top off the sandwich with spinach, spinach, tomato, provolone cheese, buffalo mozzarella delivered fresh from the Campania area or a host of other choices. There tons of other sandwiches made from an assortment of cured meats, cheeses and other toppings – including vegetarian options. Two choices of bread: cafone from Naples – which features a wonderful, chewy crust; or Roman pizza bianca – a thin flat bread brushed with salt and oil. They are happy to toast the sandwiches as well. Prices start at €3.50 per sandwich.
